SEA PINES PLANTATION AND RESORT VIDEO AND INFORMATION, HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC

Sea Pines Plantation Real Estate Information

Sea Pines was the first private plantation community to be developed on Hilton Head, begun by Charles Fraser in 1956. It covers 5,200 acres and includes a 605 acre Forest Preserve and the Audobon Bird Sanctuary. A world class resort, Sea Pines is most famous for its three championship golf courses, one of which is the renown Harbour Town Golf Links which hosts the PGA’s annual Verizon Heritage Golf Classic. Another world-class feature is the Harbour Town Marina and the red-and-white striped Harbour Town Lighthouse that look out on Calibougue Sound. The Harbour can handle yachts as large as 115 feet and is surrounded by outstanding restaurants, shops, playgrounds, and outdoor stages. A second marina is located in the South Beach area, which is also home to the popular Salty Dog Café. The community was designed to preserve the rich natural beauty of Hilton Head Island, and it is famous for its ancient moss-draped live oaks and other tress that shade the community from the edge of inland marshes to the five miles of gorgeous white sandy beach. Sea Pines allows short term rentals in many of its areas, which brings plenty of tourists to the community, and allows owners to gain an additional return on their properties if they so desire. Sea Pines is unique in that offers a full equestrian center at Lawton Stables. Sea Pine Racquet Club and South Beach Racquet Club complete the package for tennis enthusiasts. Gated security is provided at two entrances to the community. Properties range from small villas (condominiums) up to palatial oceanfront estates. The mild climate allows for year-round enjoyment with ample golfing and other activities even in winter months.
